Non-Network Provider
What it means, and what it does to a claim.
Any hospital or day-care centre the insurer has no cashless agreement with.
Why it matters
You are still covered โ but you pay the bill yourself and claim it back, which means finding the money at the worst possible moment and waiting weeks for reimbursement. In a genuine emergency you go to the nearest capable hospital regardless; for anything planned, checking the network first is the difference between an inconvenience and a crisis.
The legal definition
Non-Network Provider means any hospital, day care centre or other provider that is not part of the network.
