Annual Health Check-up

What it means, and what it does to a claim.

A package of tests for a general assessment of your health, provided as a benefit. It specifically excludes tests done to investigate an illness.

Why it matters

It is a benefit most policyholders never claim, and it funds something worth doing anyway. The exclusion matters though: once a symptom is being investigated, those tests are diagnostic rather than a check-up, and they belong in a hospitalisation claim instead โ€” where they are usually covered better.
